Picked for a balance of flavor and acidity, barrel fermented in our 55 degree winery, partially inoculated for malolactic fermentation and battonaged for 3 months. 60% aged 10 months sur lie in 1-year old Barrique, 20% 2-year old Demi-Muid and 20% in neutral Demi-Muid. Rich full-bodied, with mixed stone fruits, baked apple pie, and a persistent finish. Overall, the lemon curd and balancing acidity pairs well with the creaminess.
Riviera Rosé, called "Riviera" as Santa Barbara is known as the American Riviera based on its' southern facing, Mediterranean climate. This is the perfect wine to accompany the picnics, dinners, and BBQs. Enjoy Riviera Rosé on the lake or by the pool. You can take this can of Rosé just about anywhere. Our winemaker, Doug worked at a winery in the south of France for 4 years where this style of rosé is made & Margerum Wine Company makes the private label Rosé for Auberge de Soleil and other top properties.
The Margerum Tasting Room is on Mason Street, across from the Hotel Californian and we thought this would be a fitting name of our first tasting room exclusive wine. This is a blend made from top Santa Barbara County vineyards. Selected barrels from our cool cellar were chosen for their bold yet approachable character. The wine is aged in French oak to produce a rich, complex wine. This wine pairs well with big full-flavored foods like grilled meats, hearty stews, and fatty fish like tuna and salmon. Enjoy with light blue cheese as well.
