Margerum Wine Company

“What We Drink Around Here“

You will often hear, "it's what we drink around here" when any Santa Barbarian shares what's in their glass. All 3 of these wines are staple wines & will bring you straight to the heart of our city with each sip.

  • 2019 M5 Red
    • M5 is Margerum's Flagship wine. It is modeled after top wines from southern Rhone – Châteauneuf-du-Pape . The M is for Margerum & the 5 is for 5 grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Counoise. M5 is a Grenache based blend & has elegance and layers making it a versatile table and food wine. The overlying presence of Grenache flavors initially impacts the palate, followed by a finish complete with hints of jam, cocoa and dark berry contributions of Syrah and earthy Mourvèdre. It’s a “go to” wine since it drinks well with every occasion and almost every type of cuisine.
  • 2018 M5 White
    • #30 in the Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2020
    • Our M5 White is similar to a White Rhône blend like Châteauneuf-du-Pape. M is for Margerum, 5 is for 5 grapes. It has rich with complex flavors, a long finish. You will see a slight straw and golden hues with a viscosity that clings to the glass as it is swirled. M5 White has a full, round and pleasing with ample acidity to balance the richness that will continue to evolve with time in bottle.
  • 2019 Estate Syrah
    • This is the second wine from our stunning hillside estate property overlooking the Santa Ynez Valley. With steep elevations and diverse low nutrient soils this vineyard is comprised of a combination of clay loam soils and limestone outcroppings on a limestone base. The vineyard is farmed organically, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach to viticulture.
