44% Grenache, 36% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 3% Cinsaut. Opaque with dense crimson and ruby red hues.Red fruits, dried cranberries, and jammy youthful fruits come immediately to the fore, with perfumed Grenache and rose petal floral aromas.A solid core of dark red fruit and spicy fruit surrounded by youthful tannins. The overlying presence of Grenache flavors initially impacts the palate, followed by a finish complete with hints of jam, cocoa and dark berry contributions of Syrah and earthy Mourvèdre.
Slight straw and golden hues with a viscosity that clings to the glass as it is swirled. Apricots, white floral, sweet honey, hints of brioche toast, sweet pea flowers and pineapple. Full, round and pleasing with ample acidity to balance the richness that will continue to evolve with time in bottle. Flavors of apple, wet stone and a touch of peach nectar engage with a lovely long persistent finish that lingers.
This wine is crafted from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown on the rolling hills of the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA at McGinley Vineyard, Grassini Vineyard, Star Lane Vineyard and Happy Canyon Vineyard.
Soft pale pink with hints of orange. Pretty aromas of strawberries and watermelon with a hint of minerality. Dry, crisp on the palate and very persistent. Fruitiness balanced with a touch of mouth-watering acidy and plenty of verve. A full-bodied wine which is a perfect spring and summer sipper. It has just enough seriousness to pair with the right foods.
This is one of our favorite wines for the table, a treasure to not be overlooked. Bright fresh, and fruity with fine soft and resolved tannins. Luscious mouthfeel with grip, savory meaty notes paired with dried flowers, spice, sweet purple fruits and jelly.
Margerum “D” is an exploration in what can be achieved with barrel fermentation of high quality Sauvignon Blanc. The high mineral soils of the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA automatically put these wines into a low nutrient category resulting in reduction which, with battonage, gives the wine a “mineral” quality.
Dark rich jammy red with crimson red. Dark berry and sweet cedar and spice, blueberry and cola and spring flower notes. Rich and savory notes balanced with black dry aged fruits, berries and tobacco leaf. Tight, focused, and with rich, young tannins that will bode well for aging.
